Enamelling Jewellery Workshops for up to 3 People
A fun creative workshop to create your own enamelled copper jewellery to take home with you at the end of the session. This taster class is all about experimenting with the basics of enamelling with powders and watching the textures and patterns evolve.
You will select and prepare your copper shapes and then add layers of sifted coloured glass powders (a steady hand is useful), firing each layer of each piece directly in a 800C kiln for a few minutes (safety equipment available). I will show you various options for adding some details eg: sgraffito, stencils, inclusions etc. and you can choose what colour combinations and finishes you'd like. At the end you can add a jump ring and can take your pieces home with you. (Optional: soft faux leather necklaces are available to purchase on the day for £2 each).
The cost of the workshop includes all materials and equipment required (please bring your own face mask, a proper dust face mask is even better) and you will each be able to make 3 items of jewellery (either 3 pendants or 2 pendants and 1 pair of earrings). Costs for the 1.5 hours class are £70 for a 1-1 class or £110 for 2 people or £145 for 3 people - you can either get in touch by email to pay by BACS or buy a gift voucher online. For safety reasons, this workshop is limited to 3 people (it can be done for 4 people if you are all happy to work around each other safely) and age 13+ (U16s accompanied by paying adult).
